Concord firefighters responded to three crashes in the city on Sunday, including one on Interstate 93 that caused the southbound lanes of the highway to be shut down.
Around 3:16 p.m. Sunday afternoon, the fire department responded to a report of a multiple vehicle collision on I-93 between exits 14 and 13 heading south. All travel lanes were blocked causing New Hampshire State Police to shut down the highway while the accident was cleared.
Concord Ambulance 7 transported one passenger with minor injuries to Concord Hospital. The crash scene was cleared at 4:23 p.m.
Units responded to a second accident on I-93 southbound at 9:17 p.m. for a report of a vehicle on its side near the exit 13 off ramp.
The uninjured driver was still inside but needed assistance getting out of the vehicle. Firefighters stabilized the vehicle, removed the windshield and helped the driver get out. Transport to the hospital was not necessary.
Close to midnight crews responded to Carter Hill for a report of a motor vehicle off the road. First responders found the vehicle in the woods and engulfed in flames. The male driver was able to exit the vehicle without injury before it caught on fire. All units cleared the scene at 2:10 a.m., city officials said.
