■BCEP Solid Waster District will be having their monthly meeting on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the facility.

■Town/School District election absentee ballot applications are available at the town clerks office during regular business hours. March 8 is the first session with election of town and school officials and zoning amendments. March 12 is the second session with budget and warrant articles of both town and school.
■100 Days into the school year is celebrated around the state. The PTO volunteers delivered ice cream sandwiches to students and staff to celebrate achievements and milestones. Traditions have been encouraged of students to dress up with fun clothes to celebrate. One student dressed up as a granny with a shawl and curlers in her hair.
■Sympathy to the family of Jon Craig Shibles who passed away recently. He and his wife Marti lived in Chichester and operated the Mattressmaker in Chichester for 18 years.
■The Chichester Girl Scout Troop was pleasantly surprised at their recent drive thru cookie drive at the town hall. State Police stopped and purchased cookies and posed for pictures. The reason for his stop was of course the cookies but also it’s not every day you pass by an eager group of girl scouts on your route but then you have to stop!
■STEM in Chichester first grade. Paraprofessionals are working on their teaching degrees. Mrs. Bird recently taught a STEM lesson to Mrs. Hunt’s class. The students showed excitement in learning by themselves and within groups.
■Chichester School and Pembroke Academy will be on school break from Feb. 28 to March 4.
■Beyond the call of duty was recently performed by our Chichester Fire Department. A resident pulled into the parking lot with a flat tire waiting for AAA. Firemen at the station offered to fix the flat. Very much appreciated by this damsel in need. Thank you for going beyond your duties. Another resident had an experience and the Chichester Police Department (CPD) was praised for how they handled their problem with experience and level of professionalism. Thanks for all you do CPD.
■The Supervisors of the Checklist will be in session on Feb. 26 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the Grange Hall, Town Office to register voters, and make corrections, additions and deletions to the checklist. Residents removed who had not voted since April 1, 2017 who wish to reregister should bring the required documentation. Applicants should bring a photo ID, proof of Chichester residency, proof of U.S. Citizenship and due to Covid, masks are encouraged. Qualified applicants who do not bring proof with them may register if they sign an affidavit to their qualifications. The updated checklist will be posted in the Town Office lobby as well as in the Library. Supervisors of the Checklist, and assuming duties, are Denise Call, Mary Dobson and Gail Laker-Phelps. The annual school meeting is March 5 and to vote you must be registered and on the checklist before that meeting.
■Chichester residents and volunteers are always picking up litter that is thrown out on our roads. Hopefully, trash pickup will slow down as the legislators are looking at two bills to increase funds for littering on our roads. The first offense is $300, second is $500 and on a third offence the driver’s license will be suspended.
■Chichester’s resident, Ryan Deachman’s new single “Summerset Sunrise” has made it to the airways on 105.5YY. This New Hampshire music station plays top 40 music. Ryan can also be heard on Youtube and Amazon Music and more of his music is on the way.
■The Chichester Library congratulates “Emma” for reading 1000 books before Kindergarten. Emma even had her own billboard out front of the library announcing her achievement.

■A Meet the Candidates Forum will be hosted by the Friends of the Epsom Library on Saturday at 10 a.m., in-person in the Library meeting room (masks required), or virtually via Zoom. A Zoom link will be available at 9 a.m. on Feb. 26 at epsomlibrary.com. This is an opportunity to meet the candidates running for Town and School positions. The snow date is March 5 at 10 a.m.
■The Supervisors of the Checklist will meet on Saturday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. for correction of the checklist at the Epsom Public Library. This will be the last day for Town Clerk/Supervisors to accept voter registration applications. ■Mark your calendar, it’s time to register your child for Kindergarten! Epsom Central School will be holding registration and screenings for the 2022/2023 incoming Kindergarten students. The screenings will be taking place on the following dates: March 29 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.), March 30 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 4 to 5:30 p.m.) and March 31 (9 a.m. to noon). If your child will be a new, incoming first grade student, literacy screenings will be held on March 30 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 5:30 p.m.).
■Please note students entering Kindergarten and new to Epsom Central School in the fall need to be five years old on or before Sept. 30. First grade students need to be six years old on or before Sept. 30. At the time of registration, we will require your child’s birth certificate, most recent physical, immunization record, and two proofs of residency. One of the proofs must be a purchase and sales agreement, tax bill, or rental agreement, and the second proof must be a utility bill that is mailed to your physical address in Epsom. ■There are some changes happening at Pittsfield Area Senior Center! Starting in March there are going to be new hours operation: Monday, Wednesday through Friday (8 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and Tuesday (9 a.m. 1 p.m.). Bingo (Mondays and Thursdays, 9:30 to 11 a.m.), Community Lunch (Mondays and Thursdays at 11:30 a.m.), Cribbage (Wednesdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m.), Art (Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon), Book Club (fourth Friday every month from 10 to 11:30 a.m.), and Exercise: Walking (Mondays and Wednesdays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.). No walking during Bingo.
■At the Senior Center on Feb. 25 at 10 a.m., Book Club. Let’s get together to read and talk about books. The first meeting will just be a discussion about what books the group would like to read and discuss throughout the year. The club will meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month. ■Do you want a safe, flat, and temperature-controlled place to walk? Come to the Pittsfield Senior Center to walk. Because we are in a warehouse there is plenty of space to walk. If you walk around the center and the church sanctuary eight times you have walked about a mile. The Center hours are Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The only time that is not available to walk is Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. So please come in and get your exercise safely.
■Volunteers are needed at the Senior Center! We need volunteers for different days of the week, and different times, depending on the task being done. The work is easy and gratifying and only takes one to two hours a week. Training is provided, if interested please call 435-8482.
■Notice is hereby given in accordance with NH RSA 31:95-e that the Board of Selectmen will conduct a hearing to receive public comment concerning the acceptance of a Nitrox Pump for the Fire Department from the Pittsfield Firefighters’ Association, as the value is in excess of $5,000. The public hearing will be held at 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 22 at the Town Office.
■The town of Pittsfield’s Winter Parking Ban on town roads is effective now through April 15. This ban prohibits parking in or on the town’s roads or right of way between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. The purpose of this parking ban is to allow the winter or inclement weather maintenance crews unobstructed routes for snow removal and ice control, to maintain the effectiveness of their routes.
■The Pittsfield Historical Society’s 2022 calendars are still available. The theme of the 2022 calendar honors the men and women of Pittsfield who have served in the Armed Forces. It contains 26 wonderful photographs of servicemen, servicewomen, and various memorials located throughout Pittsfield, and provides a brief history of our loyal soldiers who fought for their country. The earliest image available to the Society is of Asa Bartlett, a captain in the Civil War. The calendar ends with Richard A. Brooks, a corporal in the Vietnam War. In between you’ll find history, insight, and perhaps even a relative! Calendars are available for sale at the Town Hall, Josiah Carpenter Library, and at the Historical Society’s new museum on Oak Street on most Tuesday mornings (9 a.m. to noon).
