■The Chichester Fire Department and Rescue Squad will be having an open house and information night on March 7 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The members have several requests on this year’s town meeting warrant, and any questions you might have will be answered, you will have a chance to meet the members and view the equipment.
■The Town Clerk will be open March 7 until 5 p.m. to accept absentee ballots for the town and school for the March 8 first session of town meeting.
■Town/School election of officers and planning and zoning ballots questions will be voted on March 8 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Masks are optional. The school will be closed for a Teacher’s Workshop Day. Town Moderator, Ewen MacKinnon, will be looking for counters for the evening count of ballots starting at 7 a.m., a volunteer list will be available to sign up at the meeting.
■Chichester School held a Kids Heart Challenge for the American Heart Association. Chichester student, Cameron Brudniak, accepted the challenge to raise funds to help everyone have healthy hearts, how to keep his own heart, brain and lungs strong, and CPR. Thanks to Cameron for accepting the challenge and donations raised to the American Heart Association.

■Chichester Police Icon Hockey Player Phil Armone will again be a top participant in the CHaD Battle of the Badges at the SNHU Arena on March 13 at 1 p.m. This will be Phil’s fifth year playing and has gained the reputation of one of the best in the arena. Local businesses of Bobcat, Concord Tractor, Auto SenseNorth, Darrah Enterprises, and the Chichester Police Association have been top donors to the cause. ■It’s time to register your child for Kindergarten! Epsom Central School (ECS) will be holding registration and screenings for the 2022 to 2023 incoming Kindergarten students. The screenings will be taking place on the following dates: March 29 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.), March 30 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.and 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.), March 31 (9 a.m. to noon). If your child will be a new, incoming first grade student, literacy screenings will be held on: March 30 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.). Students entering Kindergarten in the fall need to be five years old on or before Sep. 30 and new to ECS. First grade students need to be six years old on or before Sept. 30. ■The staff shortages that you have been hearing about on the news have finally affected us here at Pittsfield Senior Center. Due to illness and lack of personnel the Center must reduce its hours. We are only open for Bingo on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The hours of walking are postponed until further notice. This is only temporary until we find a coordinator. ■The Pittsfield Players’ Kids’ Theater Workshop will present “Godspell, Jr.” at the Scenic Theatre on March 17, 18 and 19, at 7 p.m. each evening. ■It is with a heavy heart that the PHS Alumni Association Executive Committee has decided to postpone the All-Class Reunion for one more year. We have concluded that it is too early in the evolution of the pandemic for us to extend financial and human resources for an event that ultimately may need to be canceled or will be compromised by some people’s reluctance in being in a large crowd. We look forward to starting the planning process in the fall of 2022 for a wonderful, well-attended event in July of 2023.
