■Your Vote Matters! Polls for Town Elections are from 7 a.m.to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Boscawen Elementary School. Information on Town Office positions and candidates and warrant articles will be available at the polls and currently can be picked up in the lobby of the Town Municipal Building. The Town Meeting starts immediately following ballot tabulation. Absentee voting is available for anyone concerned about COVID-19. Absentee ballot applications can be obtained at townofboscawen.org or in the lobby of the Town Office Building. Applications must be received by the town office by 5 p.m. on Election Day.

■The Book Discussion group is meeting on Tuesday at 2 p.m. to share their comments on the novel “The Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelides. Books for next month’s discussion of “Educated” can be picked up at the library. Author Westover shares her story of growing up with survivalist parents in the mountains of Idaho.

■Starting Wednesday, Boscawen Congregational Church is showing the popular and acclaimed series, “The Chosen” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Each Sunday, the church holds “live and in person” services for “in-house” worship at 10 a.m. It is also live-streamed on Facebook. ■Sovereign Grace Fellowship Church offers Youth Group every Wednesday at 7 p.m. for kids in grades 4 to 12. The church holds a free soup kitchen on March 19 beginning at 4:30 p.m.

SALISBURYCitizen of the Year

■The 2022 Salisbury Town Meeting will be held on March 8, at Salisbury Town Hall. Polls open for Voting from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Business meeting begins at 7 p.m. to discuss and vote on the Warrant articles as well as the Town Budget. All information pertaining to Town Meeting can be found under the Town Meeting tab on the salisburynh.org webpage.

■Town Clerk will be open on March 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for all Town Clerk Business. The Town Clerk will also be open on March 7 (3 p.m. to 5 p.m.) to accept Absentee Ballots, no other business conducted, no exceptions. Town Clerk will be closed for business on March 8 for Election Day. If you are planning on voting by Absentee Ballot, you need to hand it to the Town Clerk as it is too late to mail it now, please see the previous sentence for the Town Clerk’s hours . You may also drop your absentee ballot at the polls on Election Day. Any questions please call the Town Clerk at 648-6322.

■The Town Clerk will not be open on March 8 due to the Town Elections.

■The Board of Selectmen will meet on March 16 at 7 p.m. at Academy Hall. All are welcome to attend. Please see the town’s webpage for the alternative zoom link if you cannot make it in person.

■The Planning Board will meet on March 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Academy Hall. They will also meet on March 21 at 6:30 p.m. also at Academy Hall. The Public is always welcome. Please see the town webpage at salisiburynh.org for zoom instructions and other pertinent information.

■The Conservation Commission will meet on March 23 at 7 p.m.

■The Library Trustees will hold their monthly meeting at the Library on April 5 at 6:30 p.m. If you would like to attend the public meeting via Zoom please contact the Library and request the zoom option 24 hours in advance.

■There is a School Board Meeting on March 14 at 7:15 p.m. at Merrimack Valley High School. Please refer to their webpage for Zoom instructions, agendas, updates, and directions. The webpage is mvsdpride.org.

■The Salisbury Old Home Day Committee will be accepting nominations for the Citizen of The Year Award at the Annual Town meeting voting day in March 2022. The committee decided on Jan. 11 that it would hold the ballot voting for Citizen of the Year on the same day as the Annual Town Meeting. We ask that you please be sure to cast your vote for the Citizen of the Year nomination on your way out of the meeting, there will be a separate voting box and signage for this purpose. The winner will be honored at Salisbury’s Old Home Day and ride in the parade on Aug. 13. The Citizen of the Year will receive a beautiful granite clock with their name inscribed for a keepsake, as well as a write-up in the town’s annual report which becomes a permanent part of town history. The person must also be a present citizen of Salisbury. The “Citizen of the Year” award will recognize an individual with these characteristics: a person who continually volunteers their time, dedication and talents to the town and the citizens to make Salisbury a great place to live. They may serve on service, school, church, or community committees. A person with the qualities of honesty and integrity. In choosing the recipient, regards will be given to the nominee’s achievements in the year immediately prior to receiving the award, as well as their past achievements and ongoing contributions to the community.

■The Old Home Day Committee meets at Academy Hall on March 15 at 7:15 pm. The public is encouraged to come to discuss this year’s plans for the August 12, 13 and 14 festivities. Visit salsiburynh.org for Zoom instructions if you cannot attend in person.

■The Friends of Forgotten Children food pantry has opened the building to its clients. The pantry is open on Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. (the last client to check in is at 11 a.m.), closed for lunch 11:30 a.m. to noon, and reopens from noon to 7 p.m. First time clients should bring proof of residency for each member of the household. This can be your lease, a utility bill, food stamp or other agency approvals, doctor bills. We also have a clothing pantry. ■The Town Clerk is now open to the public for indoor in-person service. Masks are recommended for all those not fully vaccinated. Please continue to observe social distancing and wait until you are either called or the person in front of you leaves the office. Please be sure to bring your driver’s license as the clerk is required to see it for all motor vehicle transactions. Vehicle and Dog Renewals may still be completed online. Vehicle Renewal Registration information was mailed to those who need to renew in February, please follow the directions in the letter enclosed and the town clerk will mail your new stickers and registration to you. This only covers vehicles previously registered in Salisbury, not new vehicles or vehicles of new residents. The 2022 Dog Tags are in so please feel free to license your pooch a few months early. It is $6.50 for a spayed/neutered pooch, $9 for intact pooches. Seniors (those 65 years and older) get one discounted pooch for $2.

■In Library news, the Library is now open to the public. Please see their website for updated information. The Library’s website at salisburyfreelibrary.wordpress.com will be up to date with the latest news and details on their services. Open hours are as follows: Monday (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), Tuesday (1 to 7 p.m.), Thursday (1 to 7 p.m.), and Sat. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.).

■Town elections will take place on March 8 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Grange Hall. In order to vote you will need a photo ID. Town officers for the ensuing year will be elected, and the Wetlands and Watershed Protection Ordinance, which is an amendment to the existing Zoning Ordinance, as proposed by the Planning Board will also be on the ballot.

■A Town Meeting will be held on March 12 at 10 a.m. in the Grange Hall. You will need a photo ID to be able to vote.

■The Webster Historical Society’s Virtual Silent Auction is taking place through March 12. There are over 160 items up for auction including afghans, gift baskets, jewelry, handcrafted items, corn hole boards, paintings, gift cards, candles, home décor, and much more. Pick up of available items will be on March 13 at the Webster Town Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Shipping is also available at an additional charge on some items.
