I’m wondering if David Brook’s implication that heated seats can stretch a battery charge on a electric car or a hybrid, or the fuel efficiency of a gas guzzler for that matter (“Gas prices make electric cars more appealing but how much of a problem is winter,” Monitor 3/8) is based on his usual geeky research or was it the heat-under-the-pants wishful thinking that allows him to keep his butt warm and his heat guilt free?
