Penacook’s Kristie Schoffield followed up her Mountain West Indoor Track Championship 800 meter title by winning the outdoor 800 title on Saturday at Fresno State in Clovis, Calif.
Schoffield led the race from start to finishing, clocking a personal-record time of 2 minutes, 2.45 seconds, a Mountain West Championship record. She ran a time of 2:07.73 on Friday – the fastest qualifying time – to advance to the final.
The Boise State women’s team finished sixth at the outdoor championships.
The 2019 NCAA First Team All-American was also the 2017 New Hampshire Gatorade Girls’ Track and Field Athlete of the Year, a New England champion and eight-time NHIAA Division II champion while attending Merrimack Valley High School.
Schoffield will next compete in the NCAA West Regional on May 25-28 at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.
