Gilford Got Lunch grant

A program of Gilford Community Church, Gilford Got Lunch recently received a $5,000 grant from the Greater Lakes Region Children’s Auction to provide healthy and nutritious breakfasts and lunches to school-aged children. Gilford Got Lunch provides breakfast, snack, and lunch items to more than 50 kids within the Gilford School District annually. Gilmanton Learn Laconia Car Company history

Laconia historian Warren D. Huse will open Gilmanton Historical Society’s summer series with a presentation on the Laconia Car Company, on May 24, 7:30 p.m. From 1848 until 1928, the car company produced thousands of railroad cars, both freight and passenger, and hundreds of trolley and subway cars, mostly for rail and trolley lines on the East Coast. The program at the Old Town Hall, on Route 140 in Gilmanton Iron Works. The public is welcome. There is no charge, but donations to support the Society’s work are welcome. CanterburyCommunity dance

Canterbury Community Dance will present the Sweets of May on May 21 at 7 p.m., in the Parish Hall. Live traditional calling and music by Wind in the Timothy. No experience necessary, all ages and abilities welcome! Free will donation at the door; bring a snack to share.
