■The United Church of Penacook Food Pantry, serving Penacook residents only, is open every Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., year-round. Visitors coming to the pantry are allowed two bags of groceries and one bag of personal care items every two weeks, unless extra food is available or an emergency situation comes up.

■Concord Robotics, a non-profit organization supporting the Concord High School FIRST Robotics Competition Team, is holding a clothing Fun Drive. They are currently collecting clothing, shoes, handbags, accessories, belts, backpacks; and household textiles including bedding, comforters, blankets, sheets, towels, linen, tablecloths, curtains and pillows in clean and sellable condition through June 25. You can drop off items at Memorial Field on Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. or at their Market Day’s Booth on June 23 to 25. ■Concord Parks and Recreation in conjunction with the Granite VNA is offering a Senior Health Clinic on June 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Street Ward House. Services offered include foot care, blood pressure screening, B-12 injections, as well as medication and nutritional education. The cost is a suggested $10 donation. ■The Zonta Club of Concord is looking for gently used book donations to raise funds to give scholarships to local women to continue their education. Children’s and young adult books are needed. You can drop off your donations at the Hilltop Consignment from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. The Book Nook in the basement of Hilltop is offering to buy one get one free on books. ■Enjoy a Greek Meal from the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with pick up on June 12 from noon to 1 p.m. The June meal to-go is traditional Greek gyro, fries and salad. ■The Concord Farmers Market will be open on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and is located off of Capitol Street in Downtown Concord. The event offers 50 vendors, including a terrific selection of bakery products, meat, eggs, dairy, fruit, vegetables, fish, honey, and maple products. Many of the vendors are certified organic. Also featured are potted plants, cut flowers, wood products, dog treats, and body care products.

■Prayer flags are believed to bring happiness, long life, and prosperity to those who create them.  In this GoodLife Workshop, you will create five colorful 5×8-inch flags using stencils, acrylics and art stamping materials, to be embellished with personal intentions and meaning. ■It’s very busy at the McLane Center! On Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the center is pleased to announce a new art exhibit on display by artist Ingeborg Seaboyer. The display will be for public view through June 29 during regular center hours, Tuesdays through Fridays. 

■This year the Concord Historical Society, working in collaboration with the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance, will host a booth at Market Days June 23 to 25. They need volunteers to help staff the booth and help get the word out about activities of the Historical Society. Please consider helping us with this fun event. ■Join NH Audubon for a birding walk along Concord trails. This is a one to two-hour-long, informal birding walk with Mark Suomala, an experienced birder and weekly Rare Bird Alert compiler. All ages and skill levels of birders are welcome at 8 a.m. on Saturday at West Locke Road (dirt), Concord. Park along Locke Road (paved road) and do not block the gate on the dirt road. If you are new to birding, come and learn the basics! If you are an avid birder, come to learn new techniques, network with other birders, or share your expertise with the group. The cost is $8 for members and $10 for non-members. Registration is required; please purchase your tickets although there are no actual hard-copy tickets at nhaudubon.org/event/concord-area-beginner-bird-walks-june-11/#tribe-tickets. Wear sturdy shoes, and bring binoculars, sunscreen (or rain gear), and bug repellent. Please leave pets at home. Several pairs of binoculars will be available for you to use on the walk at no extra cost.

■Entomophilous pollination refers to plants that require insects for their pollination needs. Let’s wander around the McLane Center’s gardens as we search for our fluttery, fuzzy and buzzy pollinator pals after first learning some basics about the process of pollination through a skit and a game. Intended for kids and families, the Buds & Blooms Series is a compilation of six in-person public programs intended to introduce participants to the magic and wonder of our native plants and pollinators. Parental supervision is required and content/material is best suited for children ages four to 12. ■Join the McLane Center Native Plant Sale on June 12 from noon to 4 p.m. Bagley Pond Perennials will be at the center with a wide selection of native plants and shrubs for purchase. 

■City pools open on June 19 at 12:30 p.m and close for the season on Aug. 12 at 4 p.m. At this time, the city is hopeful that we will be able to open all seven pools. However, it will depend on the number of lifeguards we are able to hire.

■The New England Patriots Alumni Club is offering a (free) non-contact football clinic on June 15 at 5 p.m., 70 S. Fruit St. All boys and girls ages nine to 14 years old are invited. Register online at patriotsalumni.com/ffy/concord-nh.
