There is a simple response to the tragedy in Texas, and it’s right there in front of us!
Diehard political citizens will not be able to argue against the simplicity of implementing this idea!
What’s the idea? Simple – if you use a gun in the commission of a crime, if there were injuries or death resulting, you will automatically be sentenced to life in prison without parole but if it did not involve injury or death you will be sentenced to life with parole after 40 years.
No death penalty so that should make Democrats happy! No taking away of weapons so that should make Republicans happy as well!
It may take some time for the benefit of this idea to take hold but over time we should see a decline in violent gun-based crime as the idea sinks in and those that do commit gun crimes are sentenced to life in prison with or without parole!
