I was sad to hear that Concord Camera is closing this summer. I bought my first 35mm camera from Concord Camera back in the late 70s.
This downtown photo shop has been a fixture in our community for over 50 years. While many things have changed with smart phones and other technologies, this local business continued to adapt and remained open to support those of us needing a little help. I can’t even begin to count the number of photos I have printed over the years of family, friends and now my granddaughters.
I’m told I can easily do this through several online options, but I already knew that. What that option doesn’t provide is an opportunity to walk into a local downtown business where they know your name and actually care about you and the community we all live in.
I have come to know Mike St. Germain quite well and he has come to know my family through the pictures I have printed. So thank you Mike for your many years supporting this community in more ways than many know. You will be missed, but you’ve earned a well-deserved retirement.
