As much as my heart breaks every time I hear someone has been shot, I don’t think the Second Amendment should be discarded. I agree that the gun laws should be tweaked a bit, like making the age limit 21 for assault weapons, more strict background checks and a three day waiting period before someone could actually pick up the weapon. I don’t think banning guns is the answer.

Let’s face it, unlawful people can get a gun anywhere. By banning guns, law abiding people couldn’t be able to protect themselves. When are people going to realize it’s the person, not the gun? There are more drunk drivers out there than gun owners. Is Congress talking about stricter alcohol sales? What about drug deaths, they are killing more and more people every day, yet there is nothing being done about the illegal drugs coming across the border daily, not to mention illegal guns. Maybe Congress should go after the real reason these things are happening in our country. Stop playing politics and start working for the people.
