The Aug. 9 Henniker Summer Concert at the Angela Robinson Bandstand features Queen City Soul, a Manchester-based band known for being a melting pot of funk, blues, jazz, and soul.
Queen City Soul is all about the groove. They take funk and soul and modern classics and make them all their own. Their high-energy performances have floored audiences all over New England.
Featuring the drum and vocal stylings of George Laliotis, a staple in the New England music scene, Chis Sink on keys and vocals, Travis Shelby on guitar and Justin Greenberg on bass and “banter,” this quartet will have you up and dancing all night.
Henniker Summer Music Series is especially grateful that this performance of Queen City Soul is made possible by Ciardelli Fuel Company, one of Henniker’s newest businesses. We welcome back R&J Texas Style BBQ whose great array of smoked meats including BBQ chicken, brisket, pulled pork and ribs were a hit with the audience several weeks ago.
The Henniker Summer Music Series is sponsored by the town of Henniker. All concerts are free (although donations to the Town of Henniker are welcome), begin at 6:30 p.m. and take place at the Angela Robinson Bandstand at Community Park, Main Street. Should there be inclement weather, the concert will take place the following evening (Wednesday).
Stake out a space, bring a chair, spread a blanket, visit a local restaurant or have a picnic supper on the lawn with R&J’s BBQ and join your neighbors and friends in this community-building event at our bandstand.
