SunapeeSwing party

To celebrate summer, the Center for the Arts announces their Summer Swing Party to take place Aug. 17 at Dexter’s Inn in Sunapee. Residents and summer visitors are invited to enjoy a festive evening with the music by the elegant and awesome Bedford Big Band, food, drinks, dancing, and the annual art sale.

“After two long years of COVID restrictions, we are excited to be able to gather at this “not to be missed” summer event!” said CFA chairwoman Jean Connolly.

Proceeds from this event will help fund visual, performing, and literary arts programs in the Lake Sunapee region, arts education programs in our schools, and the CFA scholarship program, supporting students from our community pursuing various aspects of the arts. The CFA has awarded students in grades 7 to 12 financial assistance to attend workshops, intensives, and classes throughout the region and beyond, and senior scholarships for students going to college with the ultimate goal of pursuing a career in the arts.

Thanks to fundraising events such as this, The Center for the Arts has been able to award more than $40,000 to students in the Lake Sunapee Region over the years and brought music, art, and cultural programming to the Kearsarge and Sunapee schools.

The Summer Swing Party takes place at Dexter’s Inn in Sunapee and begins at 6:30 p.m. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be served and there will be a cash bar. The public is invited to gather friends together and celebrate summer under the tent!

Tickets are $75 per person for non-members and $65 per person for CFA members, and $500 for a table of eight. Tickets can be purchased online at CenterForTheArtsNH.org/summer-party or purchase them at Morgan Hill Bookstore and Tatewell Gallery in New London, and at Wild Goose and Prospect Hill Gallery in Sunapee Harbor.
