On Aug. 23 at 6 p.m., Gilmanton Historical Society’s president, John Dickey, will lead a walking tour of the Pine Grove Cemetery. Located on Stage Road in the Iron Works, this cemetery is the resting place of many early citizens. The tour will visit the graves of folks who played important roles in the history of the Town. Period photos will be available to add additional interest to the tour.
The rain date is Aug. 24 at 6 pm.
The Historical Society’s final program for summer 2022 is Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m. at Old Town Hall in Gilmanton Iron Works. Kevin Gardner will present a program on New England stone walls.
The society’s museum, at Old Town Hall, is open Saturdays during June, July and August, from 10 a.m. until noon. It will also be open beginning at 7 p.m. before the program at Old Town Hall, in September. Look for the museum display in the Schoolhouse at Gilmanton’s Old Home Day on Aug. 20.
