■Chichester Central School Nurse Mrs. Strazerri issued a reminder that the Department of Health and Human Services set standards of immunizations and all students entering 7th Grade are required to have a one-time dose of the Tdap vaccine. ■Pembroke and Allenstown Old Home Day is Aug. 27. The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. beginning on School Street in Allenstown and proceeds down Main Street into Pembroke, then to Broadway and down Pleasant Street to Memorial Park. After the parade, enjoy the daylong excitement at Memorial Park with entertainment on two stages, the petting zoo, Wildlife Encounter, disc golf, mini golf, lots of children’s games, food vendors and of course the Old Home Day Raffle. The day will end with fireworks at dusk, thanks to Associated Grocers of New England.
■The Pembroke Historical Society’s Annual Meeting is 1 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 28 at the historic Whittemore Homestead on Pembroke Street. ■Chichester and Pittsfield will jointly elect two members to the NH House of Representatives in November. On Sept. 13, three Republicans will be on the Republican primary ballot and three Democrats will be on the Democratic primary ballot. If you are registered as independent, you will be able to choose which primary to vote in. Everyone who votes will have to choose two of the three candidates on their ballot. There will be a candidate forum on Aug. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Chichester Town Hall on Main Street in Chichester. All six candidates have been invited and will have time to introduce themselves and answer questions. Voters from Pittsfield and Chichester are invited to attend.
