■The Canterbury Cemetery Committee is saddened and disturbed to report that the Maple Grove Cemetery (on Baptist Road) was vandalized sometime during the period of August 11 to 14. Veteran’s flags and plantings at gravesites were pulled up and trampled on, and keepsakes were removed and scattered. Evidence indicates that the perpetrators committed these acts while riding an ATV. ATVs are never permitted in a Canterbury cemetery and desecration of a gravesite is a violation of state statute RSA 635:7. We are asking for your help. If you observed anything that might lead us to the perpetrators, we ask that you contact one of the Cemetery Trustees or the Canterbury Police Department. Anonymous tips are welcomed.
