Conant 3, Hopkinton 2, OT

Key players: Hopkinton – Avery Condon (2 goals), Lincoln Wilson (assist), Owen Wuellenweber (assist), Colby Boissy (4 saves)

Highlights: The Hawks took a 2-1 lead into halftime thanks to a go-ahead goal from Condon in the 35th minute, but the Orioles tied the game in the 47th minute and Thomas Harvey netted the game-winning strike five minutes into overtime.

Coach’s quote: “After not giving up a consequential goal in three games, including two shutouts, the Hawks saw a series of defensive miscuses bite them today in the overtime loss. Throughout the second half Hopkinton created a number of scoring chances, but couldn’t produce much in terms of dangerous shots on goal. Just before the end of regulation Conant was awarded a penalty kick that Boissy was able to save to preserve the status quo and send the game to overtime. Five minutes into the added stanzas a failed defensive clearance gifted Conant a run in on goal for the game winner.” – Hopkinton’s Scott Zipke

Records: Conant 7-2-0; Hopkinton 3-4-2
