■The garden club’s annual Pajama & Book Drive begins on Oct. 1 and will run through Nov. 15. All donations are distributed to local charities and family shelters. ■The garden club is pre-selling a wonderful array of red, white or pink holiday poinsettias in both 8-inch and 10-inch pot sizes again this year! Garden club members will be taking orders from the public and there will be mail-in order forms available on www.bowgardenclub.org and on the bulletin board at the Baker Free Library. These gorgeous plants are available for $27 and $37, respectively. Pre-sold plants will be available for customer pick-up at the Bow Community Center on Dec. 3. Stay tuned for more details. ■The Bow Mills United Methodist Church will be hosting its 17th annual Pumpkin Patch with 1,000 pumpkins covering our front lawn. Pumpkin Patch hours are Sept. 26 to Oct. 31: weekdays (2 to 6 p.m.); Saturdays (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Sundays (noon to 5 p.m). ■Annual Christmas Tree Sale from Nov. 26 at noon until Dec. 10 at 7 p.m., or until sold out. Last year we sold out in 10 days. The Rotary will be receiving 200 balsam and fraser fir trees again this year. Given that there is a Christmas tree shortage this year we are expecting they will sell out fast again this year. ■Town Hall Construction update: there is major electrical/fire panel work underway, with sheet rocking, parking, and walkway site work ongoing. Fencing and orange cones were temporarily removed to allow heavy equipment access to the area. Please stay back and away from the structure. Do not drive up to the entrance, or park in the old parking lot.
