At Rollins Field against Pinkerton (6-8) Friday afternoon, Concord did just enough to grind out a 1-0 win.
Entering play, the Tide (9-4) hadn’t won consecutive games since winning five in a row from Aug. 31 through Sept. 12. But they hadn’t lost consecutive games either; Concord had alternated loss, win over its previous six contests.
Midway through the second quarter, Malena Caceres took a post-to-post pass from Ally McGonigle and buried a shot into the back of the cage. Concord kept the offensive pressure on for much of the rest of the game but couldn’t tack on any insurance.
“Our game in Keene was the same way,” Concord head coach Nicole Armaganian said, referring to Monday’s game, also a 1-0 win. “Offensively, we’re in the right spots, we just can’t find the back of the net.”
Looking ahead to the postseason, Armaganian singled out Amy Desrochers, Emma Beaujouan, Aidah Smalley, Nadia Hanna and Greta Norton as her key contributors. With three games remaining in the regular season, Armaganian said she sees each as an opportunity for continual improvement, even with nine seniors on the roster.
“We just need to go in and tackle each game like it’s our last because there’s not very many games left,” she said.
