My name is Colleen Currier. I am a proud public school teacher in Hudson. I am writing today to endorse David Nesbitt’s state representative campaign for the Merrimack 26th District. David is one of the best teachers I have ever met. He was well respected by students and faculty alike. The students affectionately referred to him as “the smartest man alive.” During my first few years of teaching, my desk was in David’s classroom. He served as a mentor to me and many others. I learned so much from him. David had the uncanny ability to address controversial topics in the classroom with grace.

During a time of increased polarization, David was able to teach students how to conduct a civil conversation. I believe that this is one of the most important skills that we can teach students. In addition to his teaching skills, he is also one of the kindest individuals that I have ever encountered. He was a support for every teacher and student in the building. During his last couple of years teaching, David was one of our union representatives. He helped us navigate some difficult issues as a school in a professional and respectful manner. If elected, David will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience of both the private and public sector. He knows what its like to be a public school teacher, and he understands what it likes to run a business. We need more people like David in the State House.
