When I was young, I rarely voted in the midterms; they just didn’t seem important. I used to think that whichever party held the majority when inflation or some other bump in the economy occurred was at fault. I used to think both parties cared about democracy. Scratch those beliefs.
The world is watching prices soar and unstable markets. The U.S. is actually better off than most, and guess what, since Biden came into office, and Democrats won a bare majority, the federal budget deficit has gone down by over a trillion dollars. Republicans in office or scrambling to get elected are nearly all willing to lie, stoke hatred and take away privacy and voting rights to get in and stay in. Until they come to their senses, we need to get them out and keep them out. Vote in November. Make it happen.
