The 150-year-old house at 317 North State St. is getting a lift and modern makeover for a house its age – a poured concrete foundation.
The home was jacked up by Geddes Building Movers of Concord and secured with wooden cribbing to allow groundwork underneath the structure.
Homeowner Ray Goudreault, who has lived in the house across the street from the Hood milk plant for the last six years, was on site as crews poured concrete on Wednesday morning.
He expects the project to be complete by the end of January. The home was built in 1870 and was owned by the Baldi family for years, according to city records.
Editor’s note: This story has been changed to reflect the longtime owners of the property.
