As a local reader, I’m writing to ask you publish regular features on the state of the climate change emergency. The climate crisis is a major continuing news event, some may argue the most significant of our time, and yet there is little regular coverage that puts actions into perspective and reports on both the big picture (what our current CO2 levels are, what current science says they should be, what our country and others are adding to the atmosphere each year, what our goals are and how well we are meeting those goals, what is happening statewide and locally to meet those goals, what others are doing, etc.) as well as developing ideas and local activities associated with the climate crisis.

I want to see that kind of regular reporting as a part of my newspaper and I ask you to develop and publish it. It’s imperative that readers, myself included, know all that they need to know about the climate crisis and what they should be doing and what our leaders, from local leaders to county, state and federal leaders are and should be doing to combat climate change and help us to make adaptations when necessary. I would love to read interviews you may have done with local scientists on how climate change is affecting us locally. We have many excellent scientists, including Cameron Wake climatologist at UNH, that it would be foolish not to ask them some questions from time to time.
