■The Winter Parking ban is until April 15. Vehicles parked on any portion of a public street after midnight until 6 a.m. can be ticketed and can also be towed depending on the circumstances.

■The Knights of Columbus is hosting its annual free Community Thanksgiving Meal on Nov. 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Parish Hall. People are welcome to dine in or takeout. The Knights are also looking for desserts so if you are considering baking an extra pie to drop off for this event would be great. You can drop the baked goods off on Thanksgiving morning before 10:30 a.m.

■St. John the Baptist will start the annual Giving Tree Program on Nov. 26. Trees will be set up in the church with ornaments that are gift suggestions for the boys at Pine Haven. Please choose an ornament or two from the tree, purchase the gift and return wrapped with the ornament soon as possible.

■The Suncook Senior Center will be closed on both Nov. 24 and 25. Happy Thanksgiving.

■Thanksgiving Baskets that were ordered can be picked up at the town hall on Nov. 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., see Kristy.

■The Chichester School and PA will have Thanksgiving School Recess starting on Nov. 23 and returning on Nov. 28. Town Offices will be closed on Nov. 24 and 25.

■The Book Group of the library will be reading Skipping Christmas by Grisham for their December Book Group. The Book Club meets every first Monday of the month at 7 p.m.

■A celebration of life for Jeff Swain will be held at his parent’s home at 22 Horse Corner Rd., on Nov. 26 at 1 p.m. The Celebration of Life will be held outside dress warm and bring chairs.

■The BCEP will be closed on Thursday and Friday, and reopening on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their facility in Pittsfield.

■Holiday Dinner Baskets are available from the town and can be ordered by Nov. 30. If you or someone you know needs help during this holiday season please sign up for a basket with Kristy at 798-5350 x 201.

■The Chichester Police Association is preparing for the upcoming holiday season with a Secret Santa Program. Applications are at the Police Department lobby or at the town hall. Toys will not be accepted because of the limited space that is available. Monetary donations are accepted or you can adopt a child or family. Shoppers are needed along with wrappers. ■Winter ordinances are in place during the snowy winter months. It shall be unlawful to place snow or ice on any public road or parking areas. Fines are $100 for the first offense, and $250 for the second offense. Snow plowing will start by the highway department when the snow accumulates to two to three inches. Chichester does not have a clear road policy please be prepared for road conditions. A copy of the ordinances is available at the town hall.

■A Community Celebration of Thanksgiving will be held at the Hope In Christ Church on Nov. 22 at 6:30 p.m.

■The Pittsfield Food Pantry (55 Barnstead Rd.) has started to take applications for Christmas food baskets. Applications must be completed by Nov. 30.

■Sign-ups are now open for the Secret Santa Program. Children must be 14 years of age or under, must be residents of Pittsfield and the parent or guardian that signs them up must have custody of the child. We will be accepting applications until Nov. 30. We are asking that applicants call the fire station (435-6807) between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m, and one of the staff will take your information over the phone. If no one is at the station to answer your call, please leave a message. For those inquiring about how to assist with the Secret Santa Program, we are accepting donations of new, unwrapped clothing and toys at the fire station. Please call before coming down to be sure someone is in the building. We are also accepting monetary donations, that can either be dropped off at the station or mailed to Pittsfield Secret Santa Program, PO Box 392, Pittsfield NH 03263.

■The Pittsfield Elementary School PTO is pleased to announce its first Annual Holiday Craft Fair on Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the PMHS Gym. Vendors/Crafters that would like to secure a spot please email pto@pittsfieldnhschools.org.

■The Children’s Christmas Store, sponsored by the Suncook Valley Rotary Club, will be held on Dec. 3 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the PES Gym. It will be held after the PTO breakfast with Santa event. Items will be $1 to $5 and will be wrapped by our wrappers. Keep an eye out for donation boxes. We are looking for new-gently used items and gift bags and tissue paper.

■The Greater Pittsfield Chamber of Commerce sponsored Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration will be held on Dec. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m., at Dustin Park. There will be free horse and wagon rides, cookies, cocoa, candy canes and popcorn, music, and caroling, Visit and pictures with Santa, a gingerbread house display and raffle by PYW, a live Christmas Tree raffle, decorated wreath contest and Holiday Storytime at the Library!

■On Dec. 3 is the PES PTO Breakfast with Santa from 7:30 to 9 a.m. at the PES Cafe. Santa will be on-site from 8 to 9 a.m. Breakfast (pancakes, sausage and a drink) one for $4, two for $7 and four for $12. The PTO will be selling raffle tickets. There will be a door prize this year for anyone who comes.

■Every year the youth at the Pittsfield Youth Workshop decorate bags for the local Meals on Wheels program, and we’re currently looking for donations. This year we will be needing enough items to fill 30 bags. Items like crossword puzzles, travel toiletries, chocolates, and small candies are some examples that would help us out. If you have any questions, please reach out to us via Facebook. We will be collecting donations until Dec. 9.

■The following are closed in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday: The Town Offices; Pittsfield Senior Center and BCEP are closed on Nov 24 and 25. The school district and Pittsfield Youth Workshop are closed from Nov. 23 to 25.
