■The Christmas Light Contest is open for people to register their homes. Register your home by emailing economic-development@comcast.net, you can also send your votes in for favorite house decorations or favorite lawn decorations. The award ceremony will be on Dec. 19 at 4 p.m. at the Allenstown Town Hall. This activity is sponsored by the Economic Development Committee.

■An Affordable Hearing will be held on Dec.19 at noon at the Suncook Senior Center. Come in for a free hearing test or cleaning for your hearing aides. Please sign up. A hearing test takes about 30 minutes and hearing aid maintenance about 15 minutes. Hearing aid batteries are also available sizes are 10, 312, or 13. One package of eight for $3, and one box of 40 is available for $15.

■Due to the holidays there will be no crafts the last two weeks of December at the Suncook Senior Center.

■For those who took a tag from the Giving Tree. If you have forgotten to return your gifts this weekend, please try to see us no later than Dec. 19. Thank you for your generosity.

■The St. John the Baptist Christmas Mass is on Dec. 24 at 4 p.m. and at midnight, and mass on Dec. 25 at 10 a.m.

CHICHESTERChristmas cards needed

■Chichester Central School wants to decorate the lobby of the school with Christmas cards. Current families, alumni, community members and businesses are asked to send Christmas greeting cards to the school at 219 Main St., and they will be on display for all to enjoy.

■The Hope In Christ Church invites community members to their Candlelight Service on Dec. 24 starting at 4:30 p.m.

■Congratulations to Wayne Preve on his retirement as Chief from the Epsom Police Department. The Epsom Fire Department will hold an appreciation night on Dec. 22 at 6 p.m.

■The Board of Selectmen will meet on Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. at town hall. The School Board will meet on Dec. 21 at 6 p.m. at the school. The school will have early release on Dec. 23 for winter break and return Jan. 2.

■The NH State Grange has elected Anne Boisvert to their Executive Committee and director of the State Grange Building for 2023 to 2024. Mary West will serve as the State Secretary. Hannah West was presented a certificate of appreciation at the State Grange Banquet for serving 26 years as editor of Granite State Granger Newletter. Chichester Grange added two Junior members to their roster. Rebecca Herbert, a Chichester Grange member, recently passed away and her many years as a member was recognized.

■The Board of Selectmen will meet on Dec. 19 at 5 p.m. at the town office meeting room.

■The Budget Committee will meet on Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. at the town office meeting room.

■The ZBA will hold a public meeting on Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. at the town office meeting room.

■Story Time at the library on Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m. Join us for stories, songs, crafts and a snack. We will continue reading Ladybug Award nominees to prepare for voting at the end of the month.

■Bedtime Story Time at the library on Thursday at 6 p.m. Families are invited to a story time that will feature bedtime books, calming music, and relaxing movement activities. Pajamas, blankets, and stuffies are highly encouraged!

■Lego Club is at the library on Monday at 3:30pm. All ages welcome.

■Mahjong meets on Tuesday at 10:15 a.m.

■The Knitters Group will meet at the library on Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. Crochet, quilting, and fabric crafters of all sorts are welcome!

■Cribbage will meet at the library on Thursday at 12:30 p.m.

■Thinker Thursday at the library starts at 4 p.m., military thank you cards. Thank a Soldier Week takes place at the end of December. To recognize this week we will be making cards that Miss Hannah will send overseas.

Elf at the library on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. This will be an interactive movie experience with games that unfold with the movie and movie-themed snacks. There is also an event the following week that ties into the movie. Pizza and drinks will be provided.

■Movie Matinee on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas. In observance of the holiday season, please note that the library will be closed on Dec. 24.

■There is new information available to Epsom residents regarding fuel and electric assistance through Merrimack County Community Action. The application and criteria is on Epsom’s towns website. If you would prefer an in-person appointment or have any questions, please contact (603) 223-0043.

■Pembroke Recreation is offering Adult Yoga lessons at the Pembroke Town Library on Monday evenings at 5:15 p.m., from Jan. 9 to Feb. 13. Classes will be for all levels. ■For the entire month of December, we invite you to stop in at the Josiah Carpenter Library and make yourself a cocoa at our cocoa bar and enjoy the Christmas Village Display. There’s even a scavenger hunt for the kiddos and holiday take and make crafts for all ages!

■The Pittsfield Players’ Kids’ Theater Workshop will be performing Grease this season, and co-directors Maye Hart and Dee Dee Douglas will be holding auditions at The Scenic Theatre on Dec. 19 and 20, at 4 p.m. each day. ■Students at PMHS are collecting donations of self-care items to add to the food pantry at the high school. Collection boxes are at Danis Market, Town Hall, the Pittsfield Library, Northway Bank, and Pittsfield Youth Workshop. You can also drop donations off at either PES or PMHS until Dec. 20.
