In February, Two Villages Art Society (TVAS) presents three Saturday afternoon art and music events in its gallery.

On display at the gallery from Feb. 2 to 19 is the work of The Secretive and Mysterious Order of the Crimson Sparrow. Ty Meier, a fine artist and member of the TVAS Board of Directors, organized and curated the show.

He describes the 14 artists as โ€œa scrappy group of underground art ninjasโ€ including painters, printmakers, illustrators, and sculptors โ€” many of whom are members of TVAS and attend its monthly Artist Nights, an informal meet-up and critiquing session held in the gallery. Andrew Heath, Byron Carr, Jo Grubman, Elizabeth MacBride, Sandy Bartholomew, and Jim Luckern are among the artists displaying their work.

The gallery is open Thursday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. The concerts will take place on Feb. 11, 18, and 25, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Donations for the concerts are accepted at the door. Light refreshments will be available. The concerts are as follows:

โ– Feb. 11: Ariel Strasser, a Boston-based Minnesotan singer, songwriter, and piano player.

โ– Feb. 18: The Honeybees: Mary Fagan and Chris Oโ€™Neill, with original songs, 30s-era jazz tunes, western swing, folk-rock, and Americana.

โ– Feb. 25: Hydro-Geo-Trio: George Holt, Dave McLean, Dan Morrissey, and Mitch Simon with blue-grass, new-grass, and a few surprises (like a fourth member).

The Two Villages Art Societyโ€™s gallery is located at the Bates Building, 846 Main St., in the Hopkinton village of Contoocook. Admission to the gallery is free.
