A Dunbarton man was transported to the hospital on Thursday after his snow blower caught fire in an attached garage on Morse Road, fire officials said.

The man spilled gasoline in the garage while working on his snow blower, which was on at the time and the machine ignited and set the garage on fire, said Dunbarton Fire Chief Jonathan Wiggin.

The man was transported to Concord Hospital by the Concord Fire Department for difficulty breathing as a result of a medical emergency, but did not sustain physical injuries from burns or smoke inhalation, Wiggin said.

Chief Wiggin praised his crew for containing the blaze to the garage, which sustained structural and smoke damage. There was a slight odor of smoke in the residence but the residents still had access to utilities and the home is livable, Wiggin said.
