Sunday’s rain storm brought roughly 1.5 inches of rain to the Concord area, and at Memorial Field, much of that water still remains.
The vast puddles made the field unplayable for Concord softball on Monday afternoon and reflects the latest instance of poor drainage at the facility complicating the local athletics schedule.
Concord’s game against Goffstown was rescheduled to Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Tide are off to a 5-1 start to the season, outscoring opponents, 73-13.
Coaches and parents have complained as Concord’s athletic facilities have become sub-standard compared to artificial turf fields installed by other communities around the state.
