Civilians and law enforcement gathered Friday morning behind the State House in Concord to honor New Hampshire’s fallen law enforcement in an annual ceremony held by the New Hampshire State Police.

Governor Chris Sununu and Attorney General John Formella read from New Hampshire’s Roll of Honor recognizing the names of the state’s 50 fallen police officers.

This year, the names of 371 officers killed in the line of duty are being added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C., one of which died in New Hampshire in 1993.

Deputy Sheriff Donald E. Callahan of the Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office, a former Concord Police Lieutenant, died of cardiac arrest while participating in a mandatory physical agility test.

Ahead of the ceremony, Olivia Tsetsillas sang the National Anthem and God Bless America while the New Hampshire Police Association Pipes and Drums and the Londonderry High School Marching Lancers performed during the ceremony.

This event was sponsored by the New Hampshire Troopers Association, the New Hampshire Police Association, the Police Chief’s Association of New Hampshire, the New Hampshire Sheriff’s Association, the Hundred Club of New Hampshire, the City of Concord, and the New Hampshire Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Committee.
