American Legion Post 58 in Belmont announced that this year’s Memorial Day parade and ceremonies will be held on May 29 at 1 p.m. The parade route runs from the Belmont Middle School parking lot down to Main Street and then along Main Street to the Veterans Memorial by St. Joseph’s Church. The ceremony will be conducted at the Memorial. Any veteran – whether a member of the Legion or not – is invited to come to the Middle School parking lot at 12:45 and march. Post 58 and Jordan’s Ice Cream are once again providing tickets for an ice cream cone to all children 12 and under who attend the parade and ceremonies.
Squam Lakes Conservation Society and The Common Man, with a combined 114 years of doing good in our communities, have once again teamed up to present the SLCS 2023 Wine Dinner & Silent Auction Fundraiser, a fun-filled evening of amazing food and wine that supports the SLCS’ mission. All the fun is happening on June 1, at 6 p.m. at the Lakehouse Grille in Church Landing, Meredith. The evening includes a welcome cocktail and silent auction followed by a five-course gourmet dinner designed by Chef Kelley Joyce. To get a preview of auction items visit foreversquam.org/events. Roller skating will return once again this summer to the Douglas N. Everett Arena in Concord starting on May 31. Skating hours will be on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday nights from 6 to 9 p.m. for a limited time through July 30. Admission will be $5. Skate rentals will be available for an additional $5 in the Everett Arena Pro Shop. Starting July 1, admission and skate rentals will both increase to $6 each. Book a private roller skating event for a birthday party, field trip, or rainout event. Private events cost $150 per hour and include rentals.
