When I was a kid in Chicago elevated trains all had a simple statement on them: I Will. The Spirit of Chicago. Moving to Concord almost 20 years ago, I saw the Concord Coach as a powerful symbol of the same theme. Innovative, well built and long lasting, the Concord Coach changed history, and forever associated the image of this city with the ability to get things done.
For that reason, it makes a great symbol for General Services, and our own city history, as it highlights a unique point from our past. Obviously, historical context is crucial with any image from 160 years ago, but the Concord Coach speaks of our ability to be creative and get things done.
