Stark sportsmanship

The New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA) awarded John Stark Regional High School the NHIAA Sportsmanship Award. This award is presented annually to schools who demonstrate a high degree of sportsmanship throughout the year. The rating of sportsmanship is voted on by competing schools after each sports season, and is based on the acts of players, coaches, spectators, administrators and school personnel.

“This is an incredible honor that our entire John Stark school community should be very proud of,” John Stark athletic director Rodney Brown said in a press release. “This is the first such honor in school history.”

Hockey tickets

Tickets are available for the New Hampshire Mountain Kings of the North American Hockey League. Home games are played at Tri-Town Ice Arena in Hooksett. The NAHL is a top junior league, where over 75% of the players last season were awarded NCAA Division I athletic scholarships. Purchase tickets at: nhmountainkings.ticketsauce.com.  

JV results

The Merrimack Valley JV volleyball program (3-2) has continued to show great effort and determination in building a footprint to future success. The Pride lost to Gilford, 3-0, but bounced back to defeated John Stark, 2-1, and wrapped up the week with a 2-1 loss to Coe-Brown. Taliyah Chuboda, a newcomer to the libero position, recorded double digit digs in each of the three contests. Mackenzie Shelby and Julia Herrmann have displayed great leadership and have helped elevate the team’s confidence. The Pride have also seen great effort and improved performance from Aubrie Austin (setter), Isabella Rodriguez (outside hitter), Olivia Seeley (outside hitter), Dez Boutin (setter) and Rhiana Cruz (middle hitter).
