I found it interesting that the person behind the recent suit against backers of the proposed casino in East Concord, is in favor of building Concord’s new middle school off Curtisville road in East Concord. When I saw that she was running for school board, and knowing how she stepped up to oppose the casino abomination, I was ‘all in’ regarding her candidacy for school board. Then I saw her take on the new middle school. On the one hand, she was against taking away greenspace to build a casino that would increase traffic hassles and not really lessen the tax burden on the residents of East Concord.

I attended the public hearing on the new middle school proposal at the citywide community center in August. I, along with about 95% of the large crowd in attendance, favored building on the existing Rundlett site. The public has spoken: we want the less-expensive solution, the safer solution and the more environmentally-friendly solution, rebuild on the Rundlett site!
