By definition, institutions are designed to stabilize, yes, even comfort us in our journey here on earth. It isn’t a mystery then that so many of us at this moment are ill at ease, or just plain ill. Our institutions are failing us. The once glorious Republican Party has emerged as a cult with all of its blind obedience or is it disobedience. Family structures are threatened by legislative and judicial usurpations of power. Our once revered Supreme Court now overrules long established health care and constitutional issues.

Now the SCOTUS says that the president can be bit of a king…really? Religious institutions seem content to issue moral directions to their members but are reluctant to admit to and correct the sexual and financial flaws of their own leaders. Institutions are meant to provide strength, guidance and comfort. Many today appear to have lost their way. Fortunately, there remains another day and hope, always hope
