Donald Coker, former Chair of the NH Port Advisory Council recently declared that he was “outraged” by the April suspension of Port Director Marconi. Well, I am outraged that he is “outraged.” Why wasn’t former Chairman Coker “outraged” when I presented him with documented and irrefutable evidence of Mr. Marconi’s mismanagement of the NH coastal moorings program back in 2014? Why wasn’t former Chairman Coker “outraged” when I showed him why the lifetime mooring wait list for certain coastal harbors was grossly unfair and unnecessary?
Why wasn’t former Chairman Coker “outraged” when he learned that the NH Port Authority was the only coastal moorings administrator in New England which did not require the actual use of a permitted mooring and that this was the primary reason for long mooring wait lists? Why wasn’t he “outraged” after learning how the NH Port Authority was losing critically needed mooring revenue? In my opinion, the answer is simple. Port Director Marconi told him not to be. “Next agenda item please.”
