My wife and I moved to New Hampshire four and a half years ago to be closer to family. Before that, we farmed for 40 years in southeast Minnesota. Our certified organic perennial fruit farm is in the Congressional district that was represented by Tim Walz for 12 years. In the early 2000s, I served on the USDA National Organic Standards Board, under the George W. Bush administration. As a leader in the organic community, I met with Tim Walz on several occasions. Rep. Walz didn’t ask me which party I belonged to or who I had voted for. He always listened attentively and directed staff to follow through. And they did.
Later, Tim Walz was elected Governor of Minnesota. I served on the state’s organic advisory board, as I did under both Republican and Democratic governors. Gov. Walz took our recommendations seriously, which is one reason why Minnesota is a leader in regenerative, organic agriculture. I am so pleased that Kamala Harris selected Tim Walz as her running mate. He’s the real deal. He genuinely cares about people, and has lived his life to help improve the lives of others. While Donald Trump, JD Vance and Kelly Ayotte are self-serving and want to take us backwards, Kamala Harris, Tim Walz and Joyce Craig are public servants who will move us forward. It will be my honor to vote for Kamala Harris, Tim Walz and Joyce Craig this November.
