The water supply in the Hopkinton Village Precinct is down Thursday morning and the Harold Martin School was in the process of dismissing students early as of 9:30 a.m., according to a series of notifications that went out to parents.
A separate notification from the town indicated that water is expected to be restored by “around noonish.”
An initial notification to Harold Martin families went out at 6:37 a.m. indicating that the precinct’s water system was not functioning but that the school would open as planned. Two hours later, the school notified families that it would close.
Busses were scheduled to arrive at the school at 9:30 a.m.
A separate water main issue earlier in the week at the Contoocook Village precinct was unrelated, according to Hopkinton Town Administrator Neal Cass. The two precincts have separate water supplies, he said.
