All New Hampshire public schools recently received letters from the Department of Education stating that money for special education funding will be reduced this year. Yes, students that are intellectually impaired, physically handicapped, learning disabled, hearing or vision impaired, speech and language impaired, and emotionally disturbed, will be getting less money from the State this year. This is happening while Edelblut and the Republican-controlled legislature are providing more money to parents who are sending their children to private boarding schools, private day schools, religious schools, and home-schooled students.
This money is being taken from the Public Schools Educational Trust Fund. Edelblut and his cronies are even talking about eliminating any family income requirements in order to be eligible for private school vouchers. Talk about Robin Hood in reverse, rob the poor and give more money to the wealthy. This is not only cold hearted, but insidious and wrong. Shame on Sununu, Edelblut and the Republican legislators. To all public schools in New Hampshire, Merry Christmas, youโve been โScrooged.โ Bah Humbug!
