Boys’ Indoor Track

New Englands

Key players: Bow – Kody McCranie (7th 300); Coe-Brown – Bryce Sartin (12th long jump); John Stark – Rio Calle (12th high jump, 21st long jump); Kearsarge – Daniel Dalbec (18th 1 mile); Merrimack Valley – Mychal Reynolds (22nd 600), Nic Oglesby (24th long jump); Manchester Central – Cesar Flahn (2nd 55 dash); Bishop Guertin – Matthew Giardina (2nd 2 mile)

Highlights: McCranie set a personal record in the 300 meters (35.51 seconds) and was the fastest N.H. competitor in that event at the New England Interscholastic Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston. Calle was the top finisher from N.H. in the high jump.

Girls’ Indoor Track

Key players: Concord – Grace Saysaw (9th 55 dash), Shelly Smith (10th 2 mile), Ballay Conteh (27th long jump); Bow – Hannah Pawlowski (10th 300); Coe-Brown – Isabelle Grenier (26th shot put); Bedford – Annika Scott (1st 55-meter hurdles in a meet record time of 7.76 seconds), Mikita Barry (2nd 1,000); Oyster River – Mackenzie Cook (2nd 2 mile)

Highlights: Saysaw was just .09 seconds away from qualifying for the 55-meter dash finals and was the highest-finishing local competitor at the New England Interscholastic Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston on Saturday. Pawlowski and Smith both cracked the top 10. Bedford’s Scott set a New England record in the 55-meter hurdles, clocking 7.76 seconds, the fifth-fastest high school time in the entire country.

Boys’ Basketball

Pembroke 53, Milford 24

Key players: Pembroke – Devin Riel (13 points), Evan Berkeley (11 points)

Highlights: Pembroke closed out the regular season with a win on the road on Friday night. Pembroke will have the No. 1 seed for the Division II tournament, which begins this week.

Records: Pembroke 16-2; Milford 5-13

Bow 46, Lebanon 31

Highlights: The Falcons closed out the regular season with a win on senior night. Bow will likely have the No. 9 seed for the Division II postseason tournament.

Records: Bow 12-6; Lebanon 3-15

Girls’ Basketball

Milford 47, Pembroke 35

Key players: Pembroke – Kate Stephens (18 points), Anne Phillips (11 points)

Highlights: Milford led for the majority of the game, extending its advantage to 11 after three quarters. Pembroke managed to close it to 4-5 points three times but was not able to get any closer. Pembroke will have the No. 5 seed for the Division II tournament.

Highlights: The Falcons closed the regular season with a win to clinch the No. 7 seed for the Division II postseason.

Boys’ Hockey

Bow 3, Windham 1

Key players: Bow – Massimo Palelli (2 goals), Jacob St. Pierre (1st career goal), Owen Webber (2 assists), Landon Westcott (assist), Adam Lafferty (assist), Kian O’Leary (20 saves)

Highlights: Palelli opened the scoring on the power play in the second period and doubled Bow’s lead in the third on a back-door feed from Webber. St. Pierre scored his first career goal to add some insurance. O’Leary had the shutout until the Jaguars scored with 5 seconds left in the game.

Coach’s quote: “We had to have it tonight, and the kids got it. It was a ‘win and in’ situation for us, and the kids played well to earn the last playoff spot. Kian was big in net tonight, and we got some timely scoring. We will need that Wednesday when we play Windham again.” – Bow’s Tim Walsh

John Stark-Hopkinton/Hillsboro-Deering 6, Kearsarge-Plymouth 3

Key players: JSHHD – Ryan Podsadowski (2 goals), Trey Travers (2 goals), Kip Hedquist(goal, assist), Owen Buss (goal), Tad Stokes (assist), Indy Madden (assist), Tanner Masewic (15 saves, 1st varsity win), Lucas Arlen (10 saves); KP – Jake Moreau (goal, assist), Landon Custance (goal), Ryder Francis (assist), Gunner Benedict (assist), Liam Duchesne (25 saves)

Highlights: Podsadowski scored two goals in 22 seconds on the penalty kick to give the General Hawks a 3-0 lead, and JSHHD led 4-1 at the end of the first period. Custance and Moreau scored the for Cats to cut the General Hawks’ lead to 4-3. JSHHD led 5-3 at the end of the second period and netted one more in the third. The General Hawks will have the No. 5 seed for the Division III tournament, which starts this week.
