I’m not sure, but let’s see if I have my political picture in focus. Here in my country, the United States, we the people are becoming the puppets of our wannabe imperialistic dictator named Donald J. Trump. We are living in an unconstitutional democracy as President Trump seeks to alter, disrespect and possibly make our Constitution a relic of the past. Our Republican controlled congress is failing in its responsibility to check and balance our executive branch. Only our state and federal court systems are waging a battle to stop President Trump’s chaotic abuses of power. But being a master of legal maneuvering, he will be appealing any negative decision from here to eternity to a questionably slanted Supreme Court. Peaceful yet powerful protests from sea to sea seem to be having an effect on some of Trump’s directives and have caused the retreat of Elon Musk. However, there is another factor in our nation that is causing a strain. In earlier days we would refer to our population as a “melting pot.” Sort of true, but as time passed the phrase “salad bowl” was favored. We are a diverse human structure that is often at odds. We can say that today our salad is not a tasty dish. We need some “dressing.”
