Today’s Conservatives Love the Confederacy
Conservatives, led by President Trump, are complaining that Smithsonian Museums portray American slavery in a bad light. Instead, Conservatives want Americans to celebrate the Confederacy, an organization their predecessors created.
Conservatives in the 18th and 19th centuries crossed the Atlantic to do business with the worst people on earth, the African Tribal Chiefs who enslaved humans. Conservatives were delighted to become enslavers themselves so they could acquire immense wealth, which they did, just like the African Chiefs.
Conservatives eventually became Confederates, seceded from the United States, killed vast numbers of American Patriots and died for the right of Conservatives to enslave people. Conservatives obstructed Reconstruction after the war, founded the KKK, enacted Jim Crow laws, blocked every attempt at civil rights legislation for a century, stood in doorways to stop African Americans from attending college and voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
And after they lost the Civil War, Conservatives hung more than 5,000 African Americans in public racial terror lynchings.
Most Americans today have forgotten or are not aware of these things. So why on earth would Conservatives, who say American history must always be “nice,” want to resurrect the Confederacy?
