Residents should be wary of emails appearing to be from the City of Concord’s Planning Division and asking for payment, according to an announcement.
The city was notified of emails from a fraudulent sender attempting to invoice residents. As with any email asking for money, residents were advised by the city to verify the address of the sender before responding.
The emails that raised alarm bells, the announcement noted, came from an email ending in “.usa” rather than the “@concordnh.gov” used by city staff and some city councilors.
Anyone who receives a message they feel might be illegitimate is asked to contact city planning at (603) 225-8515 or planning@concordnh.gov.
