Esther Hayward Concord, NH – Esther Hayward, born on April 16, 1943, to Lester F. Decato and Ruby M. Hood, passed away peacefully in her home on May 6 ,2026 at the age of 83. Throughout her life she was devoted to her family, her community, and the many people whose lives she touched through her kindness and compassion. Esther spent much of her working life as a server, a role she truly loved because it allowed her to connect with people. Her most recent retirement from the Red Blazer, after serving for 25 years, was one of her greatest accomplishments. Esther was blessed with many wonderful friendships throughout her life, with Heidi Bouchard holding a special place as her best friend for 56 years. Her parents predeceased her; her sister, Vicki Fleury; her brother, Richard Decato; previous husband, Bill Cook, and previous husband Rex Hayward. She is survived by her sister, Rainie Drew; her daughter, Lori Cook, her son Bill Cook and family, her son Chris Hayward and family, her son Nick Hayward and family. She also leaves behind four step children, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many beloved extended family members and friends. Per her wishes, there will be a private family burial. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
