An emu spotted strutting along the side of a Concord road on Wednesday has been safely reunited with its owner.

Granite State Dog Recovery shared the news in a social media update, confirming around 9:50 p.m. that the wandering bird was “safe and back with the owners.”

The tall, brown-feathered bird was first seen along Lake View Drive, sparking a wave of amused reactions on Facebook.

Many couldn’t resist cracking jokes about “LiMu Emu,” the fictional character that has become a pop culture favorite because of an insurance company advertisement.
