City Solicitor Danielle Pacik will depart at the end of the month for a position with the New Hampshire Public Risk Management Exchange, or Primex.

Pacik has held the city solicitor position for about 18 months, succeeding longtime city attorney Jim Kennedy. She served as deputy solicitor for 12 years.

Deputy City Solicitor John Conforti will serve as acting solicitor while the city looks for Pacik’s successor. Conforti was hired last summer after serving six years as chief compliance officer for the Lottery Commission and six years as an assistant attorney general.

The solicitor runs the Concord’s legal department, providing counsel to city leaders on everything from new laws to public records requests and litigation.

Before becoming deputy solicitor in 2011, Pacik was an assistant attorney general in the civil bureau of the New Hampshire Department of Justice. She also worked as a commercial litigation attorney and a clerk for state Supreme Court Justice James Duggan.

Primex is a pooled risk management system among member towns, counties and school districts. While it is not technically a municipal insurance company, it provides some similar services, including coverage for legal claims, like employment lawsuits, in addition to trainings and other legal services.
