America’s 250th Birthday

America will celebrate its 250th Birthday next year. Trump and Hegseth say they will honor the Best of the Best. They propose General Albert Pike, General Robert E. Lee and the Confederacy.

Pike resigned his commission in the middle of the Civil War and then refused to fight. Trump and Hegseth want a Pike statue in Washington D.C.

Lee was the only general in American history to lose a war by giving up himself and all his men, unconditionally. His troops wanted to fight to the end. Lee gave them up anyway, but he did get them a free lunch from Grant. Trump and Hegseth must be kidding about wanting a portrait of Lee at West Point.

The Confederacy is their most ludicrous selection to date. At Arlington National Cemetery, Trump and Hegseth plan to honor the conservatives that attacked America for no good reason, lost spectacularly and accomplished nothing but death and destruction. Confederate enslavers bitterly lost their slaves and the immense wealth their slaves produced for them. Celebrating these angry unpatriotic enslavers is glorifying the heart of darkness.

Trump and Hegseth proclaim that they want truth, sanity and brightness for America. They are giving America the exact opposite.
