Ethnic cleansing in Palestine
With the war in Gaza now in its third year, there is a sense of weariness with it that so many of us feel — no more outrage at the continued starvation and utter brutality that Netanyahu and the IDF are imposing on the Palestinians. We are tired of it.
Ever since 1948, Palestinians have been treated as second-class citizens in Israel, but now it is worse than ever. Of course, it is always wrong to kill and destroy civilians in a military conflict, wherever it occurs. But we need to wake up realize that we, too, are culpable as citizens of the United States — because our own government gives continued military support of Israel as it relentlessly pursues its blatant horrific and murderous treatment of the Palestinians in its ongoing war against Hamas.
