State regulated housing
Most of us would help people in need. I see it on committees and boards. In Pembroke, we have Zoning and Building control to make sure we have enough police, fire, sewer, water and committees like conservation, building committee and so on. Our town is different than neighboring towns as far as fire equipment, police, sewer, water, schools and other services to meet the needs of our town. Our Master Plan is different than Allenstown’s, and Epsom’s because we are different.
I doubt that the State of New Hampshire knows as much about the internal workings of our municipality, as long-time residents do. I believe we are going down a slippery slope if the state overrides townsโ master plans, zoning ordinances and their own State of NH Planning and Land Use Guide. To force housing that canโt be supported by town services would diminish property values and potentially ruin New Hampshire.
By the way, the barriers that the state wants to remove could cost someone their life, when the EMTs canโt show up because their undermanned.
