The irony
Regarding the murder of far-right activist Charlie Kirk, Trump states, “It is long past time to confront the fact that violence and murder are the tragic consequences of demonizing those with whom you disagree … in the most hateful and despicable way possible.”
Trump is the avatar of doing exactly what he is condemning. He has literally made a political living by demonizing anyone who disagrees with him, in the most hateful and despicable — and often dishonest — ways.
The irony would be laughable, were not the consequences so tragic.
