Gordon Bult, Sr
Concord, NH – Gordon Bult, Sr., 84, passed away at home, surrounded by
his loving family, on September 12, 2025. A man of deep faith and
strong character, Gordon lived a life centered around hard work,
loving others, and serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born on August 26, 1941, in Cortland, NY, Gordon was a devoted son of
Peter and Mary Bult. He remained close to his brothers – John, David,
Dean, Paul “Rodney,” and Terry – and his sister, Barbara. He married
his high school sweetheart, Lillian Dorothy Weyer, and they shared 64
years of a loving marriage.
Together, Gordon and Lillian raised four sons: Gordon Bult Jr. of
Pembroke, NH; Darryl Bult of Manchester, NH; Darren Bult of Bow, NH;
and Kevin Bult of Puebla, Mexico. Gordon was a proud father-in-love to
his daughters-in-law – Rebecca, Kimberly, and Andrea – and a beloved
grandfather to ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, along
with many nieces and nephews, each of whom he loved dearly and guided
with his steady, godly example.
Gordon’s work ethic began early as a young boy and carried through a
long and successful career in retail – from selling worms to
fishermen, working on farms, and caddying at the famed Grossinger’s
Resort in Liberty, NY, to a 26-year career with the Woolworth
Corporation. He began his Woolworth career by sweeping floors at the
Monticello, NY location and eventually rose to the position of
Regional Merchandise Manager, overseeing hundreds of stores across the
tri-state area. Later, he moved to New Hampshire and fulfilled a
lifelong dream by owning and operating three Ben Franklin stores,
creating opportunities to work side by side with his family.
Gordon and his family faithfully attended Trinity Baptist Church in
Concord, NH, where he was a member and served his Lord and church
family tirelessly in many roles over the years.
He remained strong and disciplined throughout his life – whether
jogging at dawn, golfing as much as possible with family and friends
(including five holes-in-one), staying loyal to his beloved New York
Yankees, serving in his church, or simply being present for those he
loved. Even in his final months, Gordon’s quiet strength, deep
conviction, and abiding love for Jesus Christ gave him peace and
purpose.
Gordon Bult, Sr. leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and a life
of purposeful love and hard work. He will be deeply missed and fondly
remembered by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Trinity Baptist Church, located
at 80 Clinton St in Concord NH at 11:00 AM on Sept 18, 2025.
